I became a member of the EyeWest family in the summer of 2007. Prior to that I was a Captain in the Air Force, stationed at Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas. I served as a solo optometrist for three years, providing eye care to all four services and their families. I completed my undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from Winona State University and graduated with honors from The University of Missouri-College of Optometry. I received my board certification immediately after graduation.

I enjoy meeting new people and I look at an eye exam as my chance to chat with and get to know all sorts of different people; and do an exam in the process! I enjoy reading, exercise and vegetable gardening in the summer. I love to discuss books, gardening and lawn tips and anything and everything else with my patients.

I am also proficient in American Sign Language and welcome the opportunity to assist members of the deaf community to receive a thorough eye exam and communicate their findings.

I stay busy with two young children which my husband Jeremy and I welcomed while stationed in Texas. Watching them become little people is our entertainment for now and I'm sure in the future!

Some interesting facts about me:

  • I collect Pigs…I am currently working on collecting a porcelain pig from every state.
  • I married my middle school sweetheart; we've been friends since the first grade.
  • I enjoy running and hope to do more marathons in the future.
