What are Cataracts?
Cataracts are a slowly developing cloudiness that occurs on your lenses. It is possible to have cataracts in one or both eyes. Symptoms
When cataracts develop, you may notice cloudy, blurred vision, or even double vision. It may be more difficult to see at night, or your eyes may suddenly become sensitive to light. At the same time, you may find yourself needing more light to do things like reading or work on a craft project. You may also notice halos appearing around lights. Things may begin to look faded or yellow as cataracts continue growing.
What Can You Do?
There are a few things you can do to reduce the likelihood of cataracts forming:
- Manage health issues like diabetes
- Stop smoking
- Eat a healthy diet with fruits and vegetables that contain antioxidants
- Wear sunglasses and a hat when outside to block ultraviolet light
- Reduce your alcohol intake
